The WhatsApp Spyware Hack
WhatsApp, one of the world’s most popular communications applications (1.5 billion users globally), recently faced a severe security breach. The vulnerability in WhatsApp allowed the attacker to remotely install spyware onto the victims’ mobile devices. According to the reports, the spy software was developed by the Israeli security firm NSO Group. Among selected targets was the attorney from UK, who was involved in a lawsuit against the NSO Group. Facebook, the owner of WhatsApp, urges all users to urgently update their apps to the latest version.
